The Big John Mini Metal Detecting Relic Spade - Stainless Steel is a 3/4 length spade with a narrow, serrated blade and sharp-angled tip. Ideal for coin-shooters needing to dig small, neat plugs. The Relic Spade Mini Edition was inspired by South Africa's most prolific coin shooter, Steven Elliot, a landscaper. Steven wanted a shorter and lighter spade capable of digging deep, narrow and neat plugs. He often detects in well-kept parks and gardens, where he wants to leave the grass in the same condition as he found it.

Designed specifically for use in well-maintained gardens and parks, where you need to dig smaller and neater plugs than you would in a field. The BIG John Mini Relic Spade is made from 3mm grade 304 stainless steel and has been manufactured with quality and strength in mind. This metal detecting spade features sharp serrated edges, making for easy cutting through roots, sods, and wads. The shovel or blade part of the relic spade is tapered from top to bottom, enabling you to pull out a neat plug. The angled and curved blade lessens the chance of mud and clay sticking to the shovel, as would be the case with a flat shaped spade.
