Pellets
The importance of choosing the correct pellet is the first step in bringing out the true accuracy and velocity potential of your rifle. We sell .177 (4.5mm) and .22 (5.5mm) lead and alloy pellets, so please make sure you match the correct calibre ammo with the calibre of your rifle or it will not work.
You get all sorts of different shapes for different uses:
1) Dome Pellets - best shape for all round, general use
2) Match Pellets (wadcutter, flathead) - Best used for target shooting and 10m competition disciplines due to consistent short range accuracy and larger impact points for easy target viewing (can see where you hit)
3) Pointed Pellets - Best ballistic performance and higher penetration rating
4) Alloy Pellets - Lighter than their lead counterparts, they have less energy behind the impact but due to the lower weight, it increases the velocity of the shot. Suitable for increasing your rifle's effective range.
5) Magnum Pellets - Cylindrically designed pellets that are heavy, hard hitters for maximum energy transferral to the target. Unsuitable for rifles with lower velocities due to the increased weight.
6) Hollow Point Pellets - Have a hollowed-out tip that crumples on impact, increasing lethality. Perfect for hunters.
7) Slugs - Specially designed and generally conical in shape, they can be fired from most airguns however generally, only work well with barrels that have been designed to fire them (most higher-end PCPs). Much heavier than the conventional lead counterparts and the hollow tip design makes them extremely popular hunting ammunition.
