Description

The Marto Templar's Sword features a steel blade with 24K Gold etchings on the upper third with the Templar cross. The elaborate hilt is in 24K Gold plated cast metal with many figures in relief and some in silver plated inlays, depicting templar symbols. The disk shaped pommel frames a Templar cross, badge of the Order.

Marto was founded in 1961 in the old district of Toledo and certifies all swords are designed, developed and manufactured in Toledo-Spain by its skilled and recognised artists, craftsmen and sword masters that join traditional handicraft with the most modern techniques and manufacture the finest decorative swords available in the world today.

Commemorates The Templar order, of religious and military character, which was founded in Jerusalem in the year 1118 by nine crusader knights, to ensure the custody of the Holy places and to protect the pilgrimage travel routes. The Order reached its maximum splendor in the 13th century. The knights Templar considered themselves as the knights of God, in honour of the church and Christianity.

They were a very well organized military force and were the front line forces during the Crusades. During a century, they ensured the effective government of the kingdom of Constantinople. The only obeyed the Pope, and had properties in all of Europe and the Middle East.
