R&D Strengths

Through continuous investment in research and development, Pixfra cultivates technological innovation across thermal sensing, image processing, and optical engineering.

Adaptive Dynamic Range
Strong scene adaptability with excellent dynamic range management ensures targets remain prominent regardless of background complexity. The algorithm continuously adjusts contrast and brightness in real time based on scene temperature distribution.
Edge Enhancement
Proprietary edge and texture enhancement algorithms sharpen target outlines and surface detail that raw thermal sensors often blur. The result is crisp, well-defined imaging that makes identification at range significantly more reliable.
Multi-Frame Noise Reduction
Advanced temporal noise reduction removes sensor noise and fixed-pattern artefacts while preserving genuine thermal detail. The algorithm distinguishes between noise and real scene data, maintaining image clarity in low-signal conditions.
AMOLED Display Technology
High-contrast AMOLED displays deliver vivid, punchy rendering of thermal imagery. Combined with multiple colour palettes — white-hot, black-hot, red-hot and more — the display ensures optimal visibility in all ambient lighting conditions.
Scene-Mode Intelligence
PIPS 2.0 introduces dedicated scene modes including Forest Mode, specifically tuned for hunting and wildlife observation in dense vegetation. The algorithm recognises scene type and adjusts processing parameters for optimal output automatically.
IP67 Weatherproof Build
Every Pixfra product is engineered to IP67 standards — fully dust-tight and protected against temporary water immersion. The housing withstands rain, condensation, fog, and the physical demands of professional outdoor use in extreme conditions.

Sensor Technology

Pixfra develops thermal imaging solutions from the sensor level up, giving full control over the entire imaging chain — from photon capture through to display output.

01
Uncooled VOx Microbolometer
Pixfra products use high-performance uncooled vanadium oxide microbolometer sensors. The VOx material provides excellent temperature sensitivity and long-term stability without the complexity or power demands of cooled detector systems — making devices field-practical and reliable.
02
NETD ≤25mK Sensitivity
Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference of 25 millikelvin means the sensor can distinguish temperature differences smaller than 0.025°C. This sensitivity enables detection of targets with minimal thermal contrast — critical for locating concealed animals at range.
03
640×512 High-Resolution Array
The flagship 640×512 pixel thermal array delivers over 327,000 individual thermal measurement points per frame. Combined with a 17μm pixel pitch, this resolution provides the spatial detail needed for accurate identification at distances up to 3,500 metres.
04
Non-Uniformity Correction
Each pixel in a thermal array has a slightly different response. Pixfra's adaptive NUC algorithm continuously calibrates the sensor in the background, eliminating fixed-pattern noise and ensuring every pixel delivers accurate, consistent temperature data throughout your session.
