Developed by Larrin Thomas, a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, CPM-MagnaCut's remarkable composition challenges traditional stainless steel chemistry by reducing the amount of chromium in the steel while adding precise amounts of vanadium and niobium to form carbides. The result is high-performance blade steel that offers an exceptional balance of wear resistance, toughness, and extreme corrosion resistance to make it worthy of inclusion in the elite Salt Series.
