Introducing the Davis Vantage Vue ISS Weather Station. The Davis Vantage Vue ISS Weather Station is an advanced, all-in-one weather monitoring system designed for both enthusiasts and professionals seeking accurate, real-time environmental data. This wireless station comprises two main components: the Sensor Suite (ISS) and the console. The Sensor Suite, housed in a corrosion- and UV-protected enclosure, is solar-powered with a long-lasting battery backup, ensuring reliable operation in outdoor conditions. It manages an array of sensors that measure critical weather parameters such as temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, barometric pressure, dew point, and even moon phase data. The console, which can be powered via an AC adapter or batteries, provides a user-friendly interface for viewing, analysing, and logging data.
Communication between the Sensor Suite and the console employs FCC-certified, license-free frequency-hopping spread-spectrum (FHSS) technology. This method ensures robust, long-range connectivity even in areas with weaker signals or multiple stations operating nearby. User-selectable transmitter ID codes allow for the coexistence of up to eight different stations within the same area, making it ideal for multi-site monitoring or expanding your existing weather network. The console supports data integration with WeatherLink Live or WeatherLink data loggers, enabling users to log weather data, analyse trends, and upload information to the internet for remote access and sharing.
Designed with durability and accuracy in mind, the Vantage Vues sensor suite features passive shielding to minimise solar radiation-induced temperature errors. Its sensors are housed in UV-resistant ABS and ASA plastics, ensuring longevity and stability in harsh outdoor environments. The all-in-one sensor array measures both inside and outside temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall and rain rate, barometric pressure, dew point, and other vital weather variables. Additional features such as historical graphing, forecast, and moon phase display provide comprehensive weather insights, making it suitable for agricultural, research, or recreational purposes.
The console offers a clear, backlit LCD display with LED indicators, providing easy reading of current, daily, monthly, and yearly data. It supports detailed graphing capabilities, allowing users to visualise variable changes over specific intervals. With dimensions of approximately 7.5" x 5.75" x 4.5" (with antenna), it can be mounted on a wall or placed on a flat surface. Powered by a 5VDC power adapter with a battery backup, the console ensures continuous operation during power outages, with a battery life of up to nine months without external power.
