Introducing the ICOM IC-M37 VHF Marine Tranciever - 6W, Black. The ICOM IC-M37 VHF Marine Transceiver is a rugged handheld radio designed for reliable communication during boating, fishing, sailing and other marine activities. Delivering up to 6 W of RF output power, it provides strong transmission capability while maintaining a compact and easy-to-handle design. Its slim body, large buttons and straightforward control layout make it easy to operate, even while wearing gloves. Clear audio is supported by a powerful internal speaker capable of approximately 700 mW output, helping received messages remain easy to hear in noisy onboard environments. A Voice Loud function can temporarily maximise volume when required, while the Mute function allows sound to be reduced quickly. The Monitor function can also be used to open the squelch when weak signals are difficult to hear.

The IC-M37 includes instant access to Channel 16 as well as the Call channel, allowing important marine communication channels to be reached quickly. Dualwatch and Tri-watch functions can periodically monitor Channel 16 while the radio is being used on another channel. Normal and priority scanning, favourite channels and a channel history function that stores the five most recently used channels further simplify everyday operation. Power is supplied by the user-replaceable BP-296 lithium-ion battery pack, providing up to approximately 12 hours of operation under specified transmit, receive and standby conditions. A low-battery warning helps keep the user informed of remaining battery capacity, while the built-in power-saving function helps extend operating time. An optional BP-297 battery case is also available for additional backup flexibility.

Designed specifically for demanding marine environments, the IC-M37 carries an IP57 rating for dust and water protection. It can withstand immersion in water up to approximately 1 m deep for 30 minutes. Should the radio be dropped into the water, ICOM's Float'n Flash function allows it to float while activating a flashing light and audible alarm to help make the radio easier to locate, including in low-light conditions. The AquaQuake water-draining function helps remove water from the speaker grille by vibrating the speaker cone, reducing the risk of muffled audio after exposure to water. This helps maintain clear sound after the radio has been splashed or immersed and adds an extra layer of practicality for regular use around water.

Additional features include weather channels with weather alerts, a lock function, illuminated display for night-time operation and selectable LCD contrast. The radio supports INT, USA, CAN and WX channel groups and operates across marine VHF frequencies ranging from 156.025-157.425 MHz for transmission and 156.050-163.275 MHz for reception. The ICOM IC-M37 measures approximately 59.7 x 140.5 x 38.7 mm and weighs around 293 g with the BP-296 battery, antenna and belt clip installed. It is designed to operate in temperatures from -20C to +60C and has been tested against a range of MIL-STD-810G environmental conditions including temperature extremes, humidity, salt fog, rain, vibration, shock and immersion.
