Description

The Root'd Jalapeno Pepper - 50 Seeds produces chillies between 5cm and 10cm. Jalapeno peppers are small, vibrant green chili peppers known for their distinct flavour and moderate spiciness. Originating from Mexico, these peppers have gained popularity worldwide due to their versatility in various cuisines. With a Scoville heat rating ranging from 2,500 to 8,000, they offer a pleasant heat that adds a kick to any dish without overpowering the taste buds. Jalapenos can be used fresh, pickled, or smoked, and their flavour profile ranges from mildly tangy to slightly sweet with a hint of earthiness.

Whether incorporated into salsas, stuffed with cheese, or added to tacos and nachos, jalapeno peppers bring a delightful combination of heat and flavour to culinary creations, making them a beloved ingredient for spice enthusiasts and food lovers alike.

Growing Notes: There are various ways to germinate seeds. You can use the moist paper towel method, germinate in trays indoors or sow directly in pots. However, it is a good idea to start seeds indoors in small pots or germination trays. Keep the medium moist during germination and if you can maintain a warm consistent temperature it will be beneficial. You can soak seeds for about 2 hours to soften the seeds. It is common to soak seeds in a weak Hydrogen peroxide or weak chamomile tea solution. Do not sow seeds too deep. Be patient as some hotter varieties can take weeks to germinate. After seeds sprout and a few leaves have formed, you can start to transplant and move outdoors when temperatures become warmer. Peppers love rich soil, so adding compost to the garden or potting mix is highly recommended.
