Description

The Root'd C008 Trinidad Scorpion Pepper - 5 Seeds produces chillies between 4cm to 7cm long and 3cm wide. The Trinidad Scorpion Pepper is a formidable chili pepper known for its blistering heat and distinctive appearance. Originating from Trinidad and Tobago, it gained recognition as one of the hottest peppers in the world. With a Scoville heat rating that can exceed 1.4 million units, the Trinidad Scorpion Pepper delivers an intense and prolonged burn that can be excruciatingly spicy. It features a wrinkled, pitted skin with a vibrant red or yellow colour, resembling the stinger of a scorpion, which gives it its name.

Despite its intense heat, the Trinidad Scorpion Pepper also offers a fruity, slightly sweet flavour with hints of floral notes, adding complexity to its searing heat. It is often used sparingly in hot sauces, marinades, and spicy dishes where a powerful kick is desired. The Trinidad Scorpion Pepper has become a favourite among heat-seekers and chili enthusiasts who are drawn to the challenge and thrill of experiencing extreme spiciness in their culinary adventures.

Growing Notes: There are various ways to germinate seeds. You can use the moist paper towel method, germinate in trays indoors or sow directly in pots. However, it is a good idea to start seeds indoors in small pots or germination trays. Keep the medium moist during germination and if you can maintain a warm consistent temperature it will be beneficial. You can soak seeds for about 2 hours to soften the seeds. It is common to soak seeds in a weak Hydrogen peroxide or weak chamomile tea solution. Do not sow seeds too deep. Be patient as some hotter varieties can take weeks to germinate. After seeds sprout and a few leaves have formed, you can start to transplant and move outdoors when temperatures become warmer. Peppers love rich soil, so adding compost to the garden or potting mix is highly recommended.
