Introducing the Sony FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS Telephoto Lens. A long-reach prime lens designed for photographers who need substantial magnification in a relatively compact full-frame E-mount package. Its fixed 600 mm focal length makes it particularly well suited to distant subjects such as wildlife, birds and sporting action. When used with an APS-C camera or in APS-C crop mode, the lens provides an equivalent focal length of approximately 900 mm for even greater reach. The optical construction consists of 24 elements arranged in 17 groups and incorporates Super ED and ED glass elements to help reduce chromatic aberration and preserve fine image detail. Sonys Nano AR Coating II further assists in suppressing flare, ghosting and unwanted reflections, helping maintain contrast and clarity in demanding lighting conditions.

With a maximum aperture of F6.3 and a minimum aperture of F32, the lens provides control over exposure and depth of field across a range of shooting situations. Its 11-blade circular aperture supports smooth background rendering and natural-looking bokeh, while the full-frame angle of view is approximately 410'. In APS-C format, the angle of view narrows to approximately 240'. Autofocus performance is designed to make full use of compatible Sony camera bodies, helping the lens track fast-moving subjects with accuracy. A full-time DMF switch provides quick access to manual focus adjustment when required, while built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation helps minimise the effects of camera shake during handheld shooting and at slower shutter speeds.

The Sony FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS has a minimum focusing distance of 2.5 m (8.21 ft) and offers a maximum magnification ratio of 0.25x. It is also compatible with Sonys SEL14TC 1.4x and SEL20TC 2.0x teleconverters, allowing photographers to extend the effective focal length when additional reach is needed. A 95 mm filter diameter is provided, together with a round, bayonet-style lens hood. Measuring approximately 108 mm in diameter by 263 mm in length (4-1/4 x 10-3/8 in.) and weighing around 995 g (35.1 oz.), the lens combines extensive telephoto capability with manageable dimensions.
